Congratulations to Humberto Mendoza!

16 courageous papas graduated from the MNC Father Warriors Series where the papas connect among themselves, share their strengths and challenges as fathers. Among the topics discussed were the roots of fathering, the little boy within, fathering without violence or fear, discipline and fun, child development, teamwork between father and spouse and healing the father wound.

The papas and their wives/partners shared their thoughts on the day of graduation:

“This is the first time in my life that I attended parenting classes. I enjoyed them very much.”

“A couple of weeks ago, my husband surprised me. He helped me do the dishes; I told him “What’s going on?’ He said, ‘I see you are very busy, I want to help you’. I felt so happy! Thank you, MNC for supporting these types of workshops.”

“These sessions were like therapy; I enjoyed seeing other father’s perspectives.”

“Since my husband started attending the Father Warriors series, he is more patient with our child. I also had some relaxation time for myself as the series offered childcare services.”

As part of our Fatherhood implementation plan we have elected three papas as “Father Warrior Ambassadors”. These papas will receive training and will assist in co-facilitating for future parenting series. One of our main goals is to shape nurturing fathers who engage more in the life of their children to be successful and ready for school. We are also preparing for a series of Couples’ sessions as many couples expressed interest in participating.
